How to Care for Your Sick Bird

Birds look beautiful. And if you have birds as pets, you just can’t overlook if it’s showing signs of sickness. There are some tips to take care of a sick bird.

(A) Keep in touch with your vet. Take guidance if it’s showing signs of sickness like fatigue, inactivity, redness in eyes etc.

(B) You can set up a hospital cage. This cage doesn’t have anything lucrative .It’s a kind of aquarium in which you can have pet carrier, screen and shoe box having holes in it.

(C) If your bird is sick, try to keep it warm. Try to maintain environment of at least 80 to 90 degrees F. You can use heal lamps, heating pads and hot water bottles.


(D) Make water easily accessible for bird. Dehydration can prove fatal for sick birds.  Pour down some drops of liquid in its throat using dropper. But don’t force too much.

(E) Check out what kind of food should be given to sick bird. Again your vet can guide you in that or you can read any book regarding that.

Take care of these points and take care well of your bird. After all, your pet relies on you and it’s your duty cater to its needs.
