Tips To Help You Choose The Right Pet

By caadmin on February 10th, 2012

Are you looking for a pet? There are several options which you can choose from and there are various factors which you need to consider as well. Pets bring joy and love to the house and they are ideal companions when you are unwell or distressed. Pets understand your discomfort and they will relate to it despite the fact that they cannot speak. Think about the following options and choose wisely:

Dogs

Dogs are the most common pets and there is a very good reason for this. They are the perfect companions and it is not for naught that they are called “man’s best friend”. Dogs understand pain, love, fear, rejection and anger just as well as we do. The sight of you will make them unexplainably happy, especially when you see them after a long time. When you come back from work they will surely be there to greet you and welcome you home. The sight of your dog bounding towards you will remove all your frustrations and bring a smile to your face.

Cats

Cats are quite popular in the Arab world but they are not as affectionate as dogs. In fact hardly ever show any emotion and are quite content to be by themselves. They quite simply do whatever they want, whenever they want. But cats are clean and do not require much maintenance.

Rabbits

Rabbits are cute but behind the lovable face is a sinister reputation. They tend to poop and pee quite often and cannot be trained. You have to keep them in a cage and this defies the whole point of having a pet. And you can’t have two rabbits in the same house because they mate quite often. They also tend to bite your carpet, furniture and anything else they can find.

Birds

Parrots, parakeets and cockatoos are probably the only birds which you can keep inside the house. But some of them tend to talk nonstop and this can be quite annoying. Birds are not a bad option but the cage requires constant cleaning and maintenance.

Things You Must Know About A Rabbit Before Getting One

By Admin on November 13th, 2011

Rabbits are really cute animals and you may be bowled by their cuteness. However, if you are planning to have one you must be aware of certain things about a rabbit. Let us have a look at these things-

1.They poop and pee everywhere
But don’t worry they can be easily litter trained. In fact rabbits are naturally very tidy animals. (Do you know even in wild, the rabbits tend to poop at a particular place only?) However even after getting trained at times they leave an odd poop here and there, this is just to mark there territory.
2.Save your carpet
Yes you got me right. Rabbits love digging even if that is your carpet. The best option to save your carpet would be give him some dirt to dig.
3.Rabbits bite
In fact rabbit bites can be very painful. The reasons behind nipping can be various like at times he nips you to say I love you, if you are in his way he may bite you. The important thing over here is that when the rabbit bites you squealing is a great option, as this lets the rabbit understand that it is painful.
4.Also save your furniture, cables etc
Rabbits have teeth that keep on growing for their whole life. So they keep on chewing things to cut down their teeth. So the best thing is give them an alternative to chew upon. Another thing you can do is apply some double sided tape or vinegar on the furniture (they definitely don’t like their whiskers being stuck and talking about vinegar they hate its smell and taste).
So now that you know what are the bad habits your rabbit is going to have, make preparations accordingly. After all it is going to be worth the pain.
